Scrappy is how you would describe this years Pitt Panther team. It seems like in every game every possession is life or death with this team. Every game goes to the wire and they usually find a way to win in the end. My credit goes to 2nd year head coach Jeff Capel. Capel has brought his tough Duke style to Pittsburgh as well as his recruiting chops. That fact is 2 years ago this team lost every ACC game. Last year they beat this very own Louisville team as well as a really good Florida St. team. Pitt's strength is clearly their backcourt. Hold over Xavier Johnson and Trey McGown are back and a tough as nails. Capel added shooter Ryan Murphy from the New Mexico Junior College. All three backcourt players average over 10 ppg. Now the bad news. Pitt's frontcourt is terrible. Terrell Brown leads their front court players with 6 ppg and 4 rpg. Louisville has 4 different front court players that are better than Terrell Brown. This is what this game comes down to, matchups. Jordan Nwora is an NBA player and Pitt has no one to guard him. Enoch is an NBA player in the post and Pitt has no one to guard him either. Sutton is an NBA player
and Pitt has no one to guard him as well. Frankly Pitt's only shot is to fall back in a zone to help protect the paint and pray Louisville is cold from the perimeter. Pitt will also need 60 points from Johnson, McGown, and Murphy to have any shot in this one. I see a 84-68 type of game. BOL tonight.
